Natural Ways I’m Supporting My Blood Pressure (This Can Help Reduce the Need for Medication)

I’m 71, and like many others in their later years, I’ve been managing my blood pressure with medication. But I’ve never been one to just settle. I believe in doing everything I can to improve my health naturally, so I’ve spent the last few years testing small daily changes to help support my body from the inside out — with the goal of staying strong, independent, and full of life.

Here’s what I’m doing right now that’s made a noticeable difference.


1. Daily Beetroot Juice

Beetroot juice has become a staple in my routine. Rich in natural nitrates, it supports blood vessel function and can help lower blood pressure. I have a small glass daily — it’s earthy, but you get used to it!

2. Walking & Gentle Cycling

Every day, I get 20+ minutes of movement — usually on my stationary bike. It’s not about going fast; it’s about consistency. Gentle cardio supports circulation, helps with weight management, and keeps the heart strong.

3. LiveGood Super Reds

I take a supplement blend called Super Reds from LiveGood. It contains beetroot powder, hawthorn berry, grapeseed extract, and other heart-supporting nutrients. It’s convenient, and I feel the difference in my energy and overall calmness.

4. Deep Breathing & Mindful Moments

Stress is a hidden blood pressure booster. I take short “pause breaks” throughout the day — just a few deep breaths or 5 minutes sitting quietly helps lower tension and gives the body time to rebalance.

5. Clean Eating (Mostly!)

I aim to eat plenty of green veggies, oily fish, and good fats — and cut down on processed salt and junk. I’m no saint, but I keep my meals simple and healthy as often as I can.


A Personal Note:
I still take blood pressure medication — but I’m working closely with my doctor to monitor it, and these natural habits are helping me feel more in control, energetic, and optimistic about the future.
